the bates family owns and runs the overlook hotel which is located in the woodsboro slopes district. the hotel has been in the bates family since it's opneing in 1929 and has maintained a historical charm locals and tourists have come to love. the family denies it's haunted status, and denies that ivan bates is responsible for the disappearance of several women who went missing in the 1960s.

🌹 the berkins' business is located in springwood
the berkins are known throughout grimrose for their family's popular bookstore, ole man berkins. the family has a reputation for being the academic types and has a long history of being skeptical of everything going on within grimrose.

the crains
the crain family is known as one of the more tragic families in grimrose. their effort to rehabilitate one of oldest, and haunted mansions in woodsboro slope ended in the tragic death of the family patriarch, tabitha crain. rumors have swirled since that frederick crain killed his wife but the investigation into her death unveiled no evidence to support the claim. to this day, their children aren't even sure what happened. taken: wildebeest

the craven family owns and runs the local movie theater, and local theater for stage productions. they are active in most town events, getting the word out and calling for grimrose to support local artists and businesses. taken: lugosi

🌹 the de lioncourts business is located in crescent cove
the de lioncourt family is a small french family that made their way to grimrose back in the 1940s. they own a trendy high-end boutique in crescent cove that’s does very well for itself with its classy, unique and refined styles. the whole family has this typical reputation for being a bit snooty and high-maintenance. however, the younger generation of the de lioncourts insists that their family is just misunderstood. they are known for being artistically gifted and have been known to show up to town events in an effort to have a good time.

🌹 the derrys business is located in sleepy hollow lake
the derry's are a whimsical family in grimrose that everyone in town adores. they run the popular derry ice cream parlor by the lake and are always involved in local events and elections, always lending a hand with community activities. their cheerful, friendly, and charming vibes make them quite the catch in the eyes of many locals. there’s even a rumor that one of them might have accidentally cast a love spell that’s led to endless crushes on all of the derry family members around town. while the spell's effects aren’t too intense, it has sparked enough romantic attention to convince the family it's true, leaving them wondering who’s really into them and who’s just under the spell.

🌹 the freelings business is located in sleepy hollow lake
a member of the freeling family moved to grimrose in 2021 to open the last dollar salloon. the real estate and business potential drive the owner to the area with no idea what they were in for. the salloon has suffered various poltergeist hauntings that keep coming back despite being exorcised many times. they cannot sell with the reputation the building has and is desperately trying to figure out a way to get out of town but unfortunately, they're stuck.

the grimroses
the grimrose family are the descendants of the founder of grimrose, theodore. as the oldest family in town they are met with a certain level of fame and adoration. they are often asked to attend ribbon cuttings, town council meetings and sponsor many important events. despite having a reputation for being a little more reclusive than most, someone in the family is always designated to make an appearance when asked. taken: beongae

the grimstones
the grimstone family wasn't always named grimstone. they are the second oldest family in town. they arrived not long after the grimrose family and were known as the bloom family. the blooms entered a territory war with the grimrose family and ultimately lost but the bitterness was there. their main matriarch, shauna bloom, went as far as to change the family last name to grimstone in 1910 and has since muddied the waters by claiming the grimrose family stole the land and town from the rightful founders. the historical society backs that the grimrose family founded the town, but to this day the grimstone family believes otherwise. they have a small support group in town who believe the conspiracy and hold it against the grimroses.

the le domas'
the le domas family made their home in grimrose, colorado, back in the early 1900s. they rank among the top five wealthiest families in town. in 1912, victor le domas came up with a bunch of board games that eventually turned into a gaming empire, which is how the family built their fortune. victor started off with nothing, and there's a story that he once outplayed a mysterious stranger in a game of chance. legend has it that this win granted him an incredible stroke of luck, transforming his struggling board game business into a huge success. there's also talk of a strange box he received that picks a game for the family to play each year with party guests of their choice, supposedly to help them maintain their wealth somehow. some say that the game can get violent and is the source of many coverups in grimrose, but there’s been no solid proof of that in recent times.

🌹 the loomis' business is located in the overlook
the loomis family is beloved in grimrose. they have been the community's historical keepers for four generations. they launched the historical society and run it today. they are quick to correct false reports and claims with facts they've collected throughout the town. the historical society is also home to closely guarded artifacts that the loomis family claims are haunted or cursed. break-ins to retrieve these items have been attempted many times over the years but security has thwarted them each time. taken: antiquing

🌹 the ludlows business is located in sunnydale
the ludlow family runs 'man and beast,' a well-loved pet shop in the neighborhood that provides a bunch of services. they're pretty much local legends, famous for their amazing skills in dealing with the town's animals. they've always said their family can talk directly with animals - understanding them and being understood by them, and so far, no one has been able to prove them wrong, even if some folks think it's just an elaborate hoax to drive business to their shop.

🌹 the meeks' business is located in haddonfield
the meeks are newer to grimrose than most but they've built a reputation documenting the town's best and worst moments. their photography of the supernatural events are famous online for their 'creativity' because of course, the outside world does not believe in what people from grimrose are telling them from within.

the myers'
the myers family cannot escape their reputation in the town no matter what they do. the family has had more members in jail for unsavory crimes over the last give decades. the most recent arrest was in february of 2024 when joseph myers was caught laundering counterfit money through his drywall business. locals were only surprised by this arrest because of it's tame and non-violent nature.

the prescotts
the prescott family has a messy history in grimrose. first arriving in 1978, the patriarch, wilbur, managed to have affairs with many prominent women in the town. he was found dead two years after arriving but no one was ever caught for his murder. anonymous threats in the form of letters, phone calls, and now text messages plague members of the prescott family in the name of someone wilbur wronged when he was still alive. despite so much time passing by, the threats still come to anyone in the prescott bloodline. taken: pepita

🌹 the quints
the quint family owns the very popular maple shop, but their excellent maple products were overshadowed by the actions of thaddeus quint in 2002. he stepped out of the family business and became a deputy of the grimrose police department only to be fired and arrested when it was uncovered that he'd been covering up various crimes committed by a now defunct biker gang that spent years terrorizing the sunnydale neighborhood.

the torrances
the torrance family is a political family in town, sitting on town council. they currently have the family patriarch sitting as mayor. they've been known to be a little unhinged in an effort to claim power in town but have never been caught doing anything illegal.

🌹 the sawyers business is located in haddonfield
the sawyer family is a known strange family in grimrose. they are known to stick together and to one another, not often branching out into the community. every child that grows up in the sawyer family is homeschooled and is warned about the danger of the world around them. the sawyers can be hard to get close to but they're not completey reclusive. they run the ghoul inn and despite the sawyers being considered odd, the town often flocks to the inn due to its very reliable spooky reputation.

🌹 the starlings business is located in sunnydale
the starling family runs a private detective agency in grimrose. it has been family run since the 1970s when benedict starling retired from the fbi after tracking own and arresting a notorious serial killer. benedict passed away in 2001 and the agency lives on through family. the starlings are said to solve their cases with his ghostly help from time to time as he has not been able to passover. taken: explosives

🌹 the summers business is located in crescent cove
the summers family have made a fortune teaching self-defense classes in grimrose. their website promotes martial arts training and other self-defense courses. if one comes in to register and utters the secret password, they are introduced to curriculums that teach people to defend against the paranormal.

🌹 the valentines business is located in sunnydale
the valentine family is one of grimrose's largest and most colorful families. they are most known for the three seedier bars that they run out of sunnydale district. they are a source for a bit of the crime in town, petty or otherwise. taken: revolting

🌹 the voorhees' business is located in sleepy hollow lake
the voorhees family opened a small sleepaway camp located near the southern most tip of sleepy hollow lake in the 1970s. it ran successfully for 15 years, until camp counselors started going missing one by one. it shut down when they were never found. nearly thirty years later, the camp reopened when a newer generation of voorhees decided it was time to revamp and make us of the space they owned once more. it has been open almost ight years without incident though the haunting activity in the area is being noticed more and more every summer.

🌹 the wardens business is located in haddonfield
the warden family is known for their popular toy store 'peak a boo toys' which was opened by harry warden in 1968. the focus has always been to bring unique toys and games back to the forefront. rumors swirled about harry warden being a warlock who was cursing toys and selling them to the residents of grimrose. podcasters in the area have attempted to link deaths through the years to toys sold at the store but no concrete evidence of the family being involved in dark magic has ever been proven. taken: powerup

the warren family has been in grimrose since the 1960s. they are a family known for their psychic abilities but most importantly, they are known for being experts in ridding people, homes and businesses of the evil spirits that haunt them. some locals have claimed that the warrens have exaggerated their findings for publicity and money, while others claim they saved their lives. their continued work in the town comes with mixed emotions from locals who have used their services in the past.
